Cable Manufacturing Management

Cable manufacturing overview

Cable manufacturer produces copper and aluminum wire, and optical fiber, as well as electrical cable products for the energy, construction, industrial, specialty and communications markets.

Manufacturing processes

  • Wire drawing - Acquire metal wires that fit with AWG
  • Annealing - Heat treating the copper to make it soft and flexible
  • Twisting and stranding - Twist or strand two or more wires of the same gauge together
  • Insulation - Apply coating of plastic or other insulating material
  • Spark test - Check the insulation of electrical conductors
  • Phase wiring - Assemble the cable according to different utilities
  • Additional covering - Wrap up wires, together with interference-preventing layer if needed, into a protection jacket if needed
  • Outer sheath - Apply more protective measures for cables depending on the required protection level
  • Marking - To mark important information on the cable
  • Quality control - Various tests to ensure the cable is free of defect and meet ISO9001 regulation
